How do virtual sessions work?
Virtual sessions at Intentional Therapy are conducted online through a secure and confidential platform. After scheduling an appointment, you’ll receive a link to join the session at your designated time. During the session, you and your therapist will have a real-time video or audio conversation, similar to an in-person session. This approach allows for convenient and effective therapy from the comfort of your chosen location.
What types of mental health services does Intentional Therapy provide?
Intentional Therapy offers a wide range of mental health services, including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Our experienced clinicians are trained to address various concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, intergenerational trauma, life adjustments, and issues specific to BIPOC individuals. We also emphasize self-care, self-love, and realistic mindfulness in our therapeutic approach.
Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider.

How long does a typical therapy session last?
A typical therapy session at Intentional Therapy typically lasts around 45 to 50 minutes. However, session duration may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences. Your therapist will work with you to determine the most suitable session length to ensure that you receive the support and guidance you require.
Are the therapy sessions confidential?

Yes, the therapy sessions at Intentional Therapy are held in strict confidence. We prioritize your privacy and adhere to ethical and legal standards of confidentiality. Information shared during sessions is protected, and our therapists are bound by professional ethics to maintain the confidentiality of your personal and sensitive information. Your trust and well-being are of utmost importance to us.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with less than a 24-hour notice but can reschedule your session for the same workweek, you will receive a charge for your session but no fee.

However, if you cancel with less than 24 hours and you cannot make up the time in the same workweek, you will be charged a fee for the time. The therapist is unable to fill your appointment time due to such short notice.

How can I prepare for my first therapy session with you?

Before your first session, take some time to reflect on what you hope to achieve in therapy. Consider what issues or goals you’d like to address. It’s also helpful to jot down any questions or concerns you have for your therapist. Arrive with an open mind and a willingness to engage in the therapeutic process.
